Ponyloaf: Epic Travels (Valve/MGM)
Ponyloaf are one of the new breed of live electronic acts bursting out of Brisbane, and are somewhat of an ubergroup...
featuring ex-Regurgitator and Emporium keyboardist Shane Rudken, as well as Daniel Templeman and Damian Lewis. Epic Travels, the group's debut EP release, belies this early stage of their musical career, with seven songs that show all the hallmarks of a well developed sound, ready to explode on the world stage. Standout tracks include 'I Plastic', a Warp via trance tune that has been on non-stop rotation here at The Laughing World, 'Epic Travels', and the electropop madness of 'Fuck Love'. This has to be one of the finest Australian releases of the year 2002, and as such is obviously well worth getting your hands on, and prepare to be amazed by Ponyloaf's aural stimulation as displayed on 'Epic Travels'.
