"‘O Complex’ is a stunning debut album from Ponyloaf that shows the Brisbane trio fulfilling on the promise they hinted at on their 2002 ‘Epic Travels’, and shows them honing their own distinctive mash of influences to create a sound that sounds truly unlike any other Australian electronic outfit right now - not quite Warp Records-esque IDM, shoegazer rock or new-school breaks, but a rather fresh and unpredictable hybrid of all of the above. Something very interesting is definitely going on here, and fans of likes of Plaid, Boards Of Canada and Sydney new-wave fusionists Cut Copy should most definitely check ‘O Complex’ out post haste. I also can’t sign off without giving a shoutout to local design legends Rinzen, who’ve done a bang-up job with the sleeve art once again. Highly recommended" evilChris http://www.inthemix.com.au/reviews/music/18416/

Regurgitator decided to cancel their GC show this Sunday at the Trocaderro. Something to do with conflicting bookings at the venue i think.
And next in loaf land we are playing support for Regurgitator at a number of their national tour shows including Sydney November 5, Brisbane Nov 19, Gold Coast Nov 21 and Melbourne Dec 19. Check out our coming gigs in SHOWS.
While we're in Sydney this Friday we're dropping in to talk to FBi radio at 3pm. If you have the means and are geographically enabled, tune in.
As mentioned, Triple J are having us as a Next Crop artist in November. You can check out our profile and interview on their site HERE.
Hey, you can also download Junkie Knights from that same page. Shane went into the ABC studio's in Brisbane the other day to record some kind of voice snippet thing. Listen to the J's on Saturday November 13 to hear him mumble some rubbish about being the new sepultura and you will also hear our tracks a number of times throughout the day.
Our noise restrictions protest was a grand success last Thursday night at Rics. The Sunday Mail did two pages of photos and a very rapturous little story, and the issue was covered in just about every newspaper in town at least once. The media attention did not go unnoticed by the powers that be who were forced to respond to our action and are now under more media pressure than ever to implement noise law reforms in the Valley.
I'll leave it for you to find a review of the event, the general concensus seems to be that it was a hilarious and exciting thing to be part of. From stories of people remixing nickelback and ponyloaf by tuning from one station to the next, to the look on innocent bystanders faces when they walked into a room of people silently moshing out. To the obvious hilarity that overtook James from Death:Wolf! when he realised that he was screaming lyrics to a silent room.
Thanks to the efforts of all those who attended and contributed to the organisation, especially Rachael and Steve from Rics and Anna le Soundgirl, also all the bands that were brave enough to commit to playing - Shazam, Simulcast, Death:Wolf!, Statler& Waldorf, Ponyloaf and all the people who were supportive of the concept and helped us out with media and the political message. It was all very very fun and provided many a warm community fuzzy.
