QUIET RIOT review

Our noise restrictions protest was a grand success last Thursday night at Rics. The Sunday Mail did two pages of photos and a very rapturous little story, and the issue was covered in just about every newspaper in town at least once. The media attention did not go unnoticed by the powers that be who were forced to respond to our action and are now under more media pressure than ever to implement noise law reforms in the Valley.

I'll leave it for you to find a review of the event, the general concensus seems to be that it was a hilarious and exciting thing to be part of. From stories of people remixing nickelback and ponyloaf by tuning from one station to the next, to the look on innocent bystanders faces when they walked into a room of people silently moshing out. To the obvious hilarity that overtook James from Death:Wolf! when he realised that he was screaming lyrics to a silent room.

Thanks to the efforts of all those who attended and contributed to the organisation, especially Rachael and Steve from Rics and Anna le Soundgirl, also all the bands that were brave enough to commit to playing - Shazam, Simulcast, Death:Wolf!, Statler& Waldorf, Ponyloaf and all the people who were supportive of the concept and helped us out with media and the political message. It was all very very fun and provided many a warm community fuzzy.
